In additional to demonstrating a series of Servant Leader Traits, the successful adoption of an agile leadership style calls for individual leaders to demonstrate the following personal actions:
A willingness to learn about Agile Ways of Working and how to adopt them effectively
Committed to attending the main Agile ceremonies and take an active role to ensure the agile team is constantly focused on creating value
Continuously encouraging the agile team to adopt a iterative release strategy in the pursuit of early customer feedback
They are comfortable admitting their mistakes and passionate about learning from them
Conscious as a leader they need to focus on providing the agile team with clear unambiguous goals and empower the agile team to determine how best to me them
Encourages the agile team to experiment and use their initiative to solve complex problems in the pursuit of identifying the best implementation approach without the fear of retaliation
Sees failure as a positive learning experience, which should be analysed so the lessons learnt are shared with the wider organisation
Constantly communicating with the agile team to ensure there’s a common understanding of the aims, progress and any potential risks or issues
