Responsibilities
We are seeking a number of experienced Java Programmers. The roles are home-based although frequent travel within Europe (approx 10%) will be required.
The Java/JavaScript Engineer will be part of a highly skilled team responsible for the development of our Client Application using open source frameworks (e.g. Java EE, Spring, Hibernate, DWR).
Essential Experience
The candidate should have at least two years Java experience and the following skills:
- Sound knowledge of core java features, i.e. Inheritance, Polymorphism, Generics, Thread Local, Annotations.
- Sound knowledge of Hibernate or similar O/R Mapping tools.
- Sound knowledge of PL/SQL and MySQL or similar SQL dialects.
- Experienced in JavaScript client-side development (preferably with standard libraries such as QooXdoo, Dojo, Prototype or Tibco).
It is advantageous if the candidate has:
- Experience with Java open-source frameworks, i.e. Spring, Acegi, Axis, Junit or frameworks with similar functionality.
- Experience with Ajax technologies, i.e. DWR or JSON.
- Knowledge of UML and good understanding of java design principles and patterns.
- Good spoken and written English.
Should be good communicator and able to work autonomously. Ability to self-motivate and good working ethics are essential!
