Introduction

The individuals working on your project are your most valuable asset. It is well recognised that their experience, creativity and enthusiasm has a significant influence on a project’s overall performance. This is particularly true for Software and IT projects which are high stress environments because of high risk, uncertainty and changing requirements. These can be overcome with the right mix of applications, personnel, teams and experience.

Auditing your enterprise’s resource environment determines whether you have the right combination of applications, personnel, teams and experience and importantly whether you allocate resources to a project based on availability or, as Monetical believes should happen more often, based on their capability and appropriateness.

The Resource Management audit consists of capturing, analysing and diagnosing how the following aspects influence the performance of a wide range of software and IT projects:
  • Environment
  • Personel
  • Experience
  • Applications and IT resources
  • Team structures
